Chris moneymaker enjoyed the best of the days at a recent poker event. The day began with Hellmuth and Chan squaring off in a rematch of their main event duel. The two players each started with 890,000 in chips with the blinds at 5,000-10,000 and a 1,000 chip ante, and eventually Hellmuth found himself short stacked with 125,000. On the final hand of the battle, Hellmuth got it in with the KSpade Suit 10Club Suit and was flipping against Chan’s pocket eights.

MONEYMAKER OFFERS TIPS

Chris Moneymaker offered a number of tips to poker players at a recent event. "That's the terrific thing about poker -- you get hot for a week, and anything can happen," said Moneymaker, who was an accountant hoping to cover credit card debt when he won $2.5 million in his improbable run through the 2003 Main Event, his first live poker tournament. He qualified for the $10,000-a-seat competition through a $39 online satellite tournament.

The saga of the everyday guy who beat the pros, played out in numerous ESPN rebroadcasts, helped trigger a boom in poker's popularity.

MONEYMAKER HAPPY TO BE BACK

Chris Moneymaker has said that he is happy to return to poker. Moneymaker, an unknown Tennessee accountant, won a $39 satellite tournament on the Internet gambling site PokerStars in 2003. That earned him a seat at the World Series of Poker's Main Event, the $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em World Championship.

A few days later, Moneymaker traveled to Las Vegas and topped a field of 838 players at Binion's Horseshoe to win poker's premier event, taking home $2.5 million.

MONEYMAKER RETURNS

Chris Moneymaker has returned to the Fourth Annual Carnival PokerPro Challenge and the organisers are delighted to have him back. Players who qualify will win a seat in the final event held on Carnival’s newest ship, the 130,000 ton Carnival Dream, December 3-10, 2011 where they will compete for a $50,000 first place prize. Chris Moneymaker, renowned poker expert and winner of the 2003 WSOP Main Event, will play in the tournament for the second year in a row.

MONEYMAKER HAS A FANTASTIC DAY

Chris Moneymaker had a fantastic day at the PCA Day 4 as he eased past opponents. Moneymaker, often credited with creating the online poker boom, has been amongst the chip leaders for the last two days and is quickly turning into the story of the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

It’s been an ultra-fast tournament and Day 4 was the fastest day yet. It took less than six hours to go from 48 players down to 22.

Chris Oliver, Max Lehmanski, John Andress and Galen Hall were all among the chip leaders to start the day but only Oliver and Hall will see the light of Day 5.

MONEYMAKER ELIMINATED

Chris Moneymaker played well, but was eliminated in the APPT Grand final. Karamalikis, who goes by xMONSTERxDONGx at the online tables, was thrilled to secure the largest tournament win of his life. The home turf win was especially meaningful for the 22 year old, as he hails from Adelaide, Australia.

MONEYMAKER ENTERS NEW POKER TOURNAMENT

Chris Moneymaker was one of the stars to take part in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. Former World Champion Chris Moneymaker has already entered the unusual event.

He said: “I jumped at the chance. Most poker tournaments take place indoors, which is fine, but I can’t imagine a better way to enjoy paradise than to go fishing on the Caribbean Sea and follow that with poker action at the tables.”

Participants can also look forward to a private drinks reception after the event has concluded on January 7.

MoONEYMAKER IN CHALLENGE

PokerStars Million Dollar Challenge returns to Fox television this Sunday and will feature the likes of Chris Moneymaker. In Round Two, Negreanu is sent to an “isolation booth,” where only the amateur can hear his advice. The competence of the opponents picks up as well, with members of Team PokerStars stepping to the felt. Such Team PokerStars pros as World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event winner Chris Moneymaker, Barry Greenstein, Jason Mercier, and Vanessa Rousso are the potential combatants for Round Two.

WSOP RATINGS DECREASE

WSOP on ESPN ratings were down 16% from last year despite having the likes of Chris Moneymaker still in contention. The overall ratings for the first six weeks of WSOP coverage on ESPN have garnered a 0.67 rating, with a rating of 1.0 meaning that approximately 1.1 million viewers were watching a program.

This would give the WSOP on ESPN an average of 737,000 viewers over the first six weeks of broadcasting. Compared to 2009, when the first six weeks pulled in a 0.79 rating (869,000 viewers), the ratings have dropped approximately 16%.

MONEYMAKER TO HOST POKER EVENT

Chris Moneymaker is all set to host a poker event. Foxwoods Resort Casino is holding a week-long "Mega Stack Challenge" in August that will be hosted by well-known poker pros Chris Moneymaker and Darvin Moon.

The tournament series will be held from August 17-23 with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The first event will be a two-day event from August 17-18 with each player starting with 15,000 chips. There is a $125,000 prize pool and a buy-in of $340.
